What the installed experience contains

The browser app opens the same 123Movies product in a focused window: movie and TV search, genre and language collections, permanent title records, practical guides, and the local My List. It is designed to make repeat discovery faster. It does not create a new content license, bypass a provider, or promise that every title can be downloaded.

Install on Android

1. Open the verified complete address in a current supporting browser.
2. Open the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
3. Read the displayed name and address before confirming.
4. Launch the new 123Movies icon and test search.
5. Save one title, close the window, and confirm it remains in the same browser profile.

The exact menu wording varies by browser and Android version. If no install option appears, a normal bookmark remains sufficient.

Install on iPhone or iPad

1. Open 123Movies in Safari.
2. Use Share, then choose Add to Home Screen.
3. Review the title and URL.
4. Confirm Add and launch the icon.

This is a web launcher, not an APK or proof of an App Store publisher. The My List remains connected to Safari’s site storage.

Install on desktop

Chrome, Edge, and other supporting browsers may show an install control in the address bar or menu. Use only the browser-native command on the verified site. No separate installer, video codec, download manager, or extension is required. Safari and Firefox users can rely on a bookmark or pinned tab where a comparable install option is unavailable.

Permissions the catalog does not need

Ordinary discovery does not require contacts, SMS, microphone, precise location, accessibility control, device administration, or broad file access. Browser storage supports the local list. A notification request should be optional and is not necessary to search. If a page insists on unrelated permissions, close it and recheck the address.

Updates and removal

A web app loads current site files when connected, so it does not need a separate app-store update ritual. Remove the home-screen icon through the operating system like another shortcut. Clearing browser site data can also clear the My List; removal of the icon alone may not erase all browser storage.

When a provider app is still better

Use an official provider app for its licensed playback, account, downloads, television interface, captions, and DRM support. Use the 123Movies app to make the choice and preserve the exact record. The two products have different responsibilities, and that boundary prevents a convenient launcher from making unsupported playback claims.

Verify before installing
